If you're receiving this email, you either opted into announcements after purchasing one of my games or signed up for one of my newsletters.

Hi, folks,

Asa here. Apologies for the interruption. I'm reaching out with some exciting news and a small ask. My game SPINE has been nominated for Best Solo Game in this year's ENnies awards, and voting is now live. If you enjoyed SPINE, I'd like to ask you to consider casting a vote for it.

And if you're willing to go the extra mile, I'd be especially grateful if you spread the word with an RT or QRT of my Bluesky post:

SPINE is nominated for Best Solo Game in this year’s ENNIES, and voting is now live: vote.ennie-awards.com/vote/2026/ Please help spread the word and consider giving it a vote. And if you haven’t heard of SPINE, here is a thread. SPINE is a dark solo ttrpg about losing yourself in a book... 🧵

As you can imagine, I'm absolutely floored by this news, and I'm grateful for the support that this game has received. I'd especially like to thank you for taking interest in this very weird game of mine or in other weird things that I've done.

If you're interested in checking out the other solo games in this category, Gene of The Bonsai Diary arranged an itch bundle with all of our games (digital) for only $20. Many thanks to Gene, who is a wonderful connector.

With gratitude,
Asa

P.S. Because I send announcements so rarely, I should also share my game that is currently in pre-launch on Kickstarter, along with some privileged information:

Cover art by Caro Asercion. Romeo and Juliet as chess pieces being pulled away from one another.

Violent Delights is a chess-based RPG about Romeo & Juliet. It's basically chess meets Firebrands meets Shakespeare.

I haven't announced this publicly yet, but the campaign will also feature a companion game called Mousetrap, and it will be as equally weird and experimental as SPINE. And it too is inspired by Firebrands and Shakespeare. Please consider following, if either game interests you.

Cover art by Caro Asercion. A tower of books, cover open like a deadfall trap. Hamlet and Ophelia chill out at its base.
